It is time again for another conference update. Even though the ‘major’ conference season is over, there is still very much going on in the conference scene when it comes to search and social.
Today you will read about the Internationals Search Summit, SES, SASCON, SMX Social and more. You can fly all over the world in the next few weeks and learn, learn, learn.
We start off with a memorial event this coming Friday. Last year we tragically lost one of the nicest people in the industry, Jaamit Durrani. It is hard to imagine it has already been a year. This Friday one of Jaamit’s closest friends in the industry, Rishi Lakhani, hosts a memorial at the Cemetery. The adress:
Jaamit 1 year Memorial Friday 25th at 1pm
Location: Gunnersbury Cemetery
followed by abadan Restaurant on Northfields Avenue
221 Northfield Avenue W13 9WU
Please let Rishi know if you can make it and help spread the word.
We have been talking about it before, and we have even had a contest which has sent one of our readers to the conference. The full agenda is now up and looks very promising. If you still want to go last minute, be sure to make use of our State of Search Discount Code: SOSISS (15% discount). Register here.
For State of Search our brand new blogger Jackie Hole will be covering the event, so stay tuned for updates here!
While ISS takes place in London, up north in the UK SASCON Mini Conference opens its doors in Manchester on the same day. Here you can find several State of Search bloggers attending and speaking, like Barry Adams, who will be talking about SEO for e-commerce websites and who will be writing about that next week, Peter Young and Sam Crocker. The agenda shows other speakers like Karl Blanks, Gary Taylor and Kevin Gibbons.
Next week in London it is all about conversion at the Conversion Conference. They have some very interesting names speaking. Keynotes are provided by Amy Africa, Bryan Eisenberg and Rory Sutherland.
The agenda of the Conversion Conference is very impressive with lots of big names presenting. Be sure not to miss the “Rapid Fire: Live Landing Page Critiques” which will help your site forward immediately.
If you are not in the UK but in Germany or Austria you might want to consider going to SEOkomm Conference Salzburg this weekend. This all-German -language conference has all the major German-speaking presenters there. It will give you a great insight in the German-language market. Be sure to bring your dictionary if you are not speaking German though. And if you are there, go say hi to our bloggers Evert Veldhuijzen and Bastian Grimm who are speaking there.
We all know the SMX Search Conferences who are organized World Wide. SMX is now expanding their view by for the first time organizing a conference all about Social Media Marketing. The conference will be held in Scottsdale, AZ, USA on December 5-6. Like the SMX Search Conferences this one is organized and programmed by Search Engine Land editor-in-chief Danny Sullivan and Executive Editor Chris Sherman.
In Paris on December 7,8 and 9 LeWeb is back. Like every year they get major speakers from around the world to talk mostly social related topics. This year the line up looks very impressive with names like Eric Schmidt, Marissa Mayer, Kevin Rose, Michael Arrington, Bill Gross and Leo Laporte. Take a look at the full program here.
Finally the SES Series. They have gone east all the way to Singapore where today and tomorrow they are discussing the latest market dynamics and trends, best practices, technology and innovation in search & social marketing. SES also announced the dates for the other major conferences in 2012:
