Following on from the success of the first Chinwag Psych conference in May 2013, the series has grown into a number of smaller events (PsychUps) a journal (PsychMatters) exploring human behaviour and big data, a conference in the US and now the second London conference in May 2014. Covering psychology, neuroscience, neuromarketing, behavioural economics and much more, the Chinwag mission is to explore these rapidly changing disciplines and examine how they can be used to help develop businesses, internally and externally both online through the PsychMatters website and in real-life at the PsychUp and Psych Conference events.
The events bring together a community of academics, marketers, psychologists, business consultants, neuroscientists and behaviour economists to explore the area in more depth. Chinwag are really excited about the subject, particularly at the intersection of academia, business, digital technologies, big data and social media.
One of the speakers from the day, Dr Aaron Ballick, author of The Psychodynamics of Social Networking will be talking about The Nature of social networking and the motivation behind it. Aaron quotes,“If you’re not paying for it, you become the product.”
This is a longtime adage often applied to the current state of the digital world where so much appears to be free, but this is only because the price tags are hidden from view.
Whether it be Google Search, G-mail, Facebook or Twitter, the service is free, so where’s the catch? One of the catches is obvious and has been the source of so much news lately: privacy. Register for your discounted ticket here using the discount code SoD15off.
