Should You Build a Website? And If So, How?

Estimated reading time: 0 minutes, 24 seconds

Last year in a panel I got the question whether or not in five years ‘websites’ would disappear and everybody would be using Social Media pages. I thought that would not happen. Another panelist disagreed and I still think websites matter.

You do have to think well about your website: what purpose do you want it to have. Why do you need it. And off course after that comes the question: but how? This infographic looks at all these elements.

What happens when the social network you were pinning your sole hopes on suddenly gets shut down? No website = no website

    • Exactly Martin, that was one of my points. I don’t think people will want to take that risk.

Brings about the age old question of how long sites like Facebook, twitter and G+ will last. Can’t see them disappearing any time soon.

So, if I understand that infographic correctly. If you’re a normal non-developer; Use Basekit to build your own site… LOL.
